Cemetery Tours at All Hallows Episcopal Church

This October, take a fascinating journey spanning three centuries of American history from Colonial life through the turn of the twentieth century.

Each FRIDAY of the month your guide, Hettie Gordon, will lead a walking tour of the All Hallows Episcopal Church and grounds- dating to 1756. View the 18th century bible and hear the ring of the tower bell presented to All Hallows by Anne, Queen of Great Britain.

The tour covers the historic cemetery where guests will learn how changes in headstone styles and iconography reflect changes over time in social attitudes toward death and dying, and also how tales of local legend and lore are woven into the regional fabric.

Yet, it is the headstones themselves that speak of the curious and far too common realities of 18th and 19th century daily life along the Pocomoke river. Come join us!

Tours last about 1 hour and cover about one mile. Comfortable walking shoes advised. Tours meet in the courtyard, at the corner of Church and West Market St. Snow Hill, Maryland. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to starting time.

Cost is $15 per person.
