Wow! What a wonderful weekend we had in Snow Hill, Maryland.
First Friday was a success and the 20th Annual "Blessing of the Combines" couldn't have turned out any better.
There's something about these historic downtown events that we just can't get enough of.
Maybe it's the shuffling of vendors and patrons bringing life to the streets, or the smell of a fried funnel cake wafting through the air. It's the sound of old bluegrass serenading the crowd, and children covered in sticky hot sweat and lollipop juice.
The Blessing of the Combines is a magical experience that cannot be replicated, and we here at Maverick's Attic couldn't be more pleased and proud to be a participant this year.
Here's a closer look at our weekend fun!
Lots of Facebook friends planning to join us!
A little sneak peek at one of our First Friday sale items. This is a really great 1970's ceramic mushroom clock.
We had to wait on Mother Nature...
Hallie stressed about running late...chill out girlfriend. :)
Nice puffy clouds were right behind.
See, we weren't even late after all! Check out that radio clock though... and yes, it still works, thanks to Josh tweaking the tubes in the back.
The official "Blessing of the Combines" itinerary.
...and that's us in it!!!
This is a photo from a previous years Blessing, but an amazing visual of what the town streets look like on this special day.
Vending a large event like this requires us to be there HOURS before hand to set up. After a late night out a First Friday, we needed lots of coffee to make our 6:30 am arrival on site for the Blessing.
...and so. Coffee.
Some pretty metal flowers at our booth.
Awesome vintage spools.
Purses, handbags, clutches and wallets.
And a cool vintage motel flyer from our local neighboring town, Chincoteague, Virginia.
Hallie getting in that morning workout - setting up the booth. Sweating already before 7am.
Yet, still optimistic that there will be more activity to come.
A few pretties on our table.
Vintage scarves and belts.
Baskets and stools.
Chock full o' vintage.
Trying to find room for all these treasures!
Just an old "SAFE" kidney and liver cure for those who had too much fun at the Blessing.
Early morning ghost town.
And corn EVERYWHERE!
Some amazing wares from our neighboring booth.
Spirited Earth's creations.
More neighbor's and their goods.
Crystals, soaps, and herbs for sale.
A window display at "The Corner Shoppe".
A corn husk dragon. How amazing is that!?
There was a petting zoo.
And some amazing Grandma's helping out with the kids... (*cough cough - thanks Mom.)
The combine/tractor parade draws a crowd!
The combine parade begins.
Accompanied by their farmers!
This one is clearly "Still Smokin".
With their size, they're like monsters in the streets!
Especially next to this little guy that we found in our booth.
Look at Garrett next to this one. They're huge!
We had such a great time this weekend, and the combines are obviously very blessed, as are we.
Thanks so much to all those who joined us, and to you for visiting our photo review blog!
See ya next time!
